Congratulations to Gendece Entertainment Group client and friend, Cody Green on his rave reviews, opening night of Twyla Tharp’s”Come Fly Away” at Pantages Theatre in Los Angeles.

The triumphant exception is Cody Green as Sid, passionately dancing out his demons and making every move unforgettable. By the highest Tharpian standards — Baryshnikov in “Sinatra Suite,” Tom Rawe in “Nine Sinatra Songs” — this is a great performance.

Willow Smith took a break from whipping her hair to help Oprah Winfrey co-host her “Worlds Most Talented Kids” episode on Tuesday (Mar. 1) and she blew us away with her poise and natural charm that is not normal for any 10-year-old to possess.

The “21st Century Girl” singer told Oprah all about her day-to-day, teaming up with Justin Bieber on Tour and those fashion choices.

Willow keeps a busy schedule, being directed and choreographed by Tina Landon (assisted by Jason Myhre, who is currently in Europe with Willow setting up her first fews shows), while Landon put the finishing touches on Rihanna’s Australian tour.

“It’s a lot of work,” Willow says of her success. “But it’s like, 50% work and 102% fun.”

Gendece Entertainment Group is proud to announce that its client, Charles MacEachern, has joined the workshop cast of “Yank!”.  Roundabout Theatre Company is producing a workshop of the Broadway-aimed musical Yank!, about gay men and women serving in World War II. Bobby Steggert, the Tony Award nominee featured in the earlier York Theatre Company run of the show, is again participating.

The Roundabout workshop is produced by special arrangement with Maren Bethelsen/Pam Koslow/Stuart Wilk, and Matt Schicker, Hugh Hayes, Jim Kierstead, Sondra Healy/Shidan Majidi, Karl E. Held, and Joe and Sandi Black.

It’s thought that this exploration of the material (culminating in industry-only presentations Feb. 25-26) includes revisions since the 2010 York run. The creative team includes composer Joseph Zellnik, lyricist-librettist David Zellnik, choreographer Jeffry Denman (who also appeared in the York run), musical director Rob Berman and associate musical direction by Paul Masse. Playbill.com previously reported that David Cromer (Off-Broadway’s Our Town, Adding Machine, When the Rain Stops Falling, and Broadway’s Brighton Beach Memoirs) is directing the Broadway-aimed musical that sheds light on a lesser-known chapter in World War II history. In the spring 2010 York version of Yank!, Steggert played a 21st-century gay man who happens on the 1940s-era diary of a gay G.I. That story came to life, with Steggert embodying the soldier. In addition to Steggert (The Grand Manner, Ragtime), the workshop cast includes Charles MacEachern, Nellie McKay, Santino Fontana, Michael Berresse, Tally Sessions, Colt Prattes, Derrick Trumbly, Jeremy Cohen, Morgan Spector, Tyler Maynard, Cole Escola, Jeff Hiller, Brad Bass, Cody Williams, and Colin Bradbury. The spring 2010 Off-Broadway production of Yank! — a traditional book musical about two servicemen who fall in love — received seven Drama Desk nominations, including Outstanding Musical; two Outer Critics Circle nominations, including Outstanding New Off-Broadway Musical; and two Lucille Lortel Award nominations, including Outstanding Musical.

Emily Padgett in “White Noise” January 13, 2011

EMILY PADGETT, who recently finished a year on Broadway starring as “Sherrie” in Rock of Ages, has been selected to play “Eden” in the new Broadway bound musical WHITE NOISE.

Whoopi Goldberg and Tom Leonardis, have joined producers Holly Way and Jay Strommen with the intention of bringing the production to Broadway as early as next season. Sergio Trujillo (Jersey Boys, Memphis, Next To Normal, Addams Family) directs.

The rock musical White Noise, about a pair of white supremacist singers turned into pop stars by cynical music execs, will play the Royal George Theatre in Chicago this spring, with official opening night on April 9, 2011.

White Noise follows a “blonde/Aryan-looking” pair of sisters (one of which is “Eden”, played by Emily Padgett) who harmonize gorgeously about their hatred of blacks, gays, Jews and other groups; the record exec who discovers them decides to repackage them as pop stars, masking their message in coded lyrics. It sounds like a setup for satire, but the Times-Picayune’s review of the show in New Orleans said it was “not for the faint of heart”: “While dealing with racism has been a perennial theme in American drama…rarely if ever has the issue been placed on the table with such brutally frightening force.” Trujillo, the experienced choreographer who came on board as director last April, says the show has continued to evolve in workshops; he characterizes it as something of a pop operetta about the overlap of pop culture and politics.

Gendece Entertainment Group client Tina Landon choreographed Rihanna’s “Who’s That Chick?” augmented reality music video for Doritos campaign, assisted by Jason Myhre.  Tina and Jason are currently working on Rihanna’s upcoming performance for MTV’s Video Music Awards.

As part of the partnership with Doritos’ special Late Night edition of chips, Rihanna will offer two versions — day and night — of the David Guetta-produced track. The video making the rounds for the last month is a taste of the day version of the clip.

The video is designed to put the control in the hands of the viewer, and fans will be able to explore many different, um angles, of the singer by pointing a graphic symbol located on the back of specially marked bags at a personal Web cam when logged onto the Doritos Late Night site.

Fans can then personalize the video by the way they hold and move the bag, offering a new experience each time.

“I’m really excited about ‘Who’s That Chick?’ and wanted to find a fresh and unique way to share it with my fans,” the singer said in a statement. “When I saw how cool the augmented reality performance Doritos created was, I knew this was it. This was the way I wanted to make ‘Who’s That Chick?’ available to the world, and I can’t wait to see how my fans get engaged in this innovative experience.”

The snack brand previously offered music fans this type of experience last year by showcasing a live-action video within a 3-D, interactive environment through performances by blink-182 and Big Boi.

“Who’s That Chick?” is slated to be featured on Guetta’s upcoming album, “One More Love,” out Nov. 29, and will reportedly serve as a bonus track on Rihanna’s forthcoming album, “Loud,” due Nov. 16.
